shadow swing drills before match: yes or no?

i’ve seen advanced juniors and some club players doing 5–10 mins of shadow swings before warmup — forehand, backhand, even volleys. i’m not sure if it’s mental or actually improves timing. anyone use them consistently and notice better rhythm or focus?
